Thinking About Traveling to South Africa With Us?

South Africa is a destination filled with breathtaking landscapes, incredible wildlife, and unforgettable experiences. Here are just a few reasons why it should be on your travel bucket list!

🦁 Explore Kruger National Park
One of Africa’s premier safari destinations, Kruger National Park spans nearly 20,000 square kilometers—larger than the country of Wales! It offers some of the best wildlife viewing in the world and is home to the greatest variety of large mammals of any game reserve.

🐘 Meet the Famous “Big 5”
Kruger is renowned for its Big 5: lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo. Keep your eyes open for some of the park’s other famous residents as well, including the “Ugly 5″—hyena, vulture, warthog, wildebeest, and marabou stork.

🌿 Witness Incredible Wildlife
The park is home to approximately:

  • 27,000 buffalo
  • 12,000 elephants
  • 10,000 rhinos
  • 2,000 lions

🌍 A Park of Extraordinary Size
Covering nearly 2 million hectares and stretching 360 km from north to south, Kruger National Park is South Africa’s largest game reserve and rivals the size of some entire countries.

⛰️ Discover Beautiful Cape Town
Known as the “Mother City,” Cape Town is consistently ranked among the world’s most beautiful destinations. Here you’ll find the iconic Table Mountain, recognized as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, along with stunning coastlines, rich culture, and world-class cuisine.

DISCOVER SOUTH AFRICA!!!!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am excited to share that Centre Mountain Lellum is planning a Spring Break 2027 trip to South Africa!  Over the years, I have had the privilege of leading 12 international trips with students and their family members from Spencer, Belmont, Royal Bay and Centre Mountain Lellum.  We’ve been to Egypt, China, Japan, Costa Rica, Europe, Peru, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and most recently to Galapagos, Ecuador.

Next year, we are thrilled to have another opportunity to travel back to South Africa! This trip will include an unforgettable safari experience to Kruger National Park which is truly one of the highlights of visiting South Africa. The last time I visited was in 2019, and it was honestly one of the best travel experiences I have ever had.  Seeing wildlife up close in their natural habitat is amazing and I know students will create memories that will last a lifetime.  The 3 images attached are ones I took on safari!

At this stage, we are looking to gauge interest from students and families from our school community and across SD62.  If you or your child may be interested in participating, please let me know before May 27th so that we can begin planning!

The following link includes the price and itinerary. We’ve been fundraising for the year and have $300 for each participant who signs up by the end of this school year.  We will continue to fundraise next year for tips and some spending money.  Please note that the price includes flights, transportation, hotels, all meals, a full-time tour director, entrances and expert local guides
